Friends of St. Catherine University Libraries, Core Curriculum and Centers of Excellence Graduate Assistant

Position Description

The Core Curriculum and Centers of Excellence work to provide unique opportunities for St Kate's students to integrate their liberal arts learning through interdisciplinary courses and programs. Center programs are designed to reach across academic disciplines and engage students and faculty in collaborative work. They include diverse participants and perspectives, involve active, participatory approaches, work with community partners, and support action research. The Core Curriculum office provides support for our two unique "bookend" courses required of all baccalaureate students: The Reflective Woman and The Global Search for Justice. It also works closely with the Centers of Excellence to support a variety of interdisciplinary curricular enrichment programs.

Working under the direction of St. Kate's Centers of Excellence mentors, the graduate assistant will have the opportunity to expand upon knowledge gained in the classroom. The graduate assistant will attain valuable work experience while assisting the Centers of Excellence to complete important projects.

The Graduate Assistantship is awarded for 15 weeks total in fall or spring semester and requires a commitment of approximately ten hours per week. The rate of pay is $12.00 per hour and the position does not include tuition remission or benefits.
