ERIC Microfiche Collection

St. Paul Campus Library

The ERIC microfiche collection at St. Catherine runs from
ED 297086 to ED 447248

What are ERIC documents?

ERIC Documents are published by the Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC). These are items sent in by teachers, librarians, administrators, and researchers from across the country. They are usually items which are not published or widely distributed except as ERIC documents.

Among the types of materials commonly published as ERIC documents are policy manuals, papers presented at conferences, analyses and reports written for local and state governing bodies, and documentation on local programs.

Where can I locate ERIC documents?

Our Library's collection of ERIC documents is in microfiche format and are stored in fiche cabinets in the Lower Level of the Library. They are indexed in the ERIC database.

How do I know I have an ERIC reference for one of these documents?

On the printout from your ERIC database search, an ED number in the accession number (AN) field indicates an ERIC document (as opposed to a journal article). Most, but not all, citations with an ED accession number are available in the microfiche set.

If the ED number is between ED297086 and ED447205, the St. Catherine Library should have a copy.

Copies can be made from the microfiche. A self-service reader/printer is located next to the ERIC microfiche collection. There is no charge for printing.

Microfiche copies of documents with earlier numbers can be requested using the ILL form for books. Be sure to include the ERIC document number on your request.

If the item is not available on microfiche, the citation is often to a published book. Check the title, author or editor in CLICnet. If it is not on CLICnet, follow procedures for requesting a book.

Please speak to a Librarian if you need assistance.
