Proxy Account Policies

A proxy account allows an eligible library user to designate another person to use certain library services on their behalf. A proxy account is separate from the eligible library user's primary account and ILLiad interlibrary loan account. This service is meant for St. Kate's staff and faculty members who wish to designate a graduate assistant or department administrator as a proxy.

About Proxies

Who is eligible for proxies & what can proxies do?

St. Kate's faculty and staff who are eligible for library services can designate a proxy. Any current St. Kate's student, staff, or faculty member may be designated to serve as a proxy. They must be affiliated with St. Kate's and have their own St. Kate's ID card with a library barcode in order to be a proxy.

Eligible library users may designate a proxy to:

  • Pick up materials on hold for them at the library
  • Check out materials from the library on their behalf
    • Proxy users will be required to provide their own St. Kate's ID, not the ID of the staff or faculty member the items are on hold for or will be checked out to
    • Proxy users will be required to mention that they are acting as a proxy and name who they are picking up items for so that library staff can properly process them

An eligible library user may have up to three designated proxy accounts at a time.
