Database News

Two databases move to EBSCO (May 20, 2008)
MEDLINE and Social Work Abstracts have moved from Ovid to a new provider, EBSCO.
 
New titles added to Credo Reference (April 8, 2008)
They keep adding good stuff to Credo Reference. The latest batch of new reference sources includes two biographical dictionaries from Harvard University Press: Notable American Women: 1607-1950 and Notable American Women: The Modern Period.
 
History databases moving to EBSCO (January 30, 2008)
America: History & Life and Historical Abstracts are moving to EBSCO because their original ABC-CLIO interface is being retired on June 30, 2008. Until then, you can search the databases in either service.

Britannica Online (added December 2007)
Browse or search more than 100,000 articles from Encyclopædia Britannica. Includes photographs, illustrations, sound files, and video clips; a dictionary and thesaurus; and statistical data for the countries of the world. [More info]
 
Communication and Mass Media Complete (added May 2008)
Search for articles from scholarly journals in communication, mass media, and related fields [More info]
 
Credo Reference (added February 2008)
A digital reference library of dictionaries, encyclopedias, thesauri, books of quotations, and subject-specific titles, covering many subjects, all from leading publishers. [More info]
 
GreenFILE (added March 2008)
Indexes information about environmental concerns such as global warming, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and more [More info]
 
JSTOR Arts & Sciences Collection VI (added May 2008)
This new addition to the JSTOR scholarly journal archive will eventually include a minimum of 120 titles, extending JSTOR's coverage in disciplines across the social sciences, with clusters focused in economics, education, linguistics, political science, and area studies.
 
OED Online (added December 2007)
Online version of The Oxford English Dictionary, the authoritative guide to the meaning, history, and pronunciation of over half a million words, both present and past, from across the English-speaking world [More info]
 
Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage (added August 2007)
Industry-leading research on companies, industries, stocks, bonds, funds, and the economy. [More info]
