Reference Services

Librarians at the College of St. Catherine support the academic programs of the College by providing reference services.   As our highest priority, we support the curricular and other information needs of our students, faculty, and staff.

We offer reference service to College of St. Catherine students, faculty, and staff by advising on approaches to research questions, and assisting with research tools. We work with library users to find information, helping them to develop their own research skills as we answer their immediate needs. Library users may seek reference assistance

• in person during reference hours
• by phone
• by chat
• by email

When a reference question or a search process is complex, we may ask that a library user make an appointment with a librarian for a more in-depth reference consultation. We welcome users from outside of the College, especially when they have information needs appropriate to our academic library collection.

The College of St. Catherine librarians provide reference service consistent with the American Library Association's Code of Ethics.
