JSTOR : Direct export to RefWorks
JSTOR allows you to export one reference at a time without logging into a MyJSTOR account. In order to export references to RefWorks from a marked list, you will need to first log into or create a MyJSTOR account.
To export one record:
- While viewing the record you want, click Export this citation.
- Click RefWorks
- A new window will open; log into your RefWorks account.
- Your record will appear in the Last Imported folder.
To use MyJSTOR:
- Enter JSTOR. Click the tab on the horizonal bar for MyJSTOR.
- If you have an account, sign in now. To create an account, select Register, then complete the form. (You will receive an email that will be your record of this account.)
- Now, return to Search (use the tab on horizonal bar).
- Conduct your search. Mark the citation(s) you want to export by clicking in the box before each record.
- Click Save citation(s).
- In the far upper right corner, near your name, you will see how many citations you have saved (it may include citations saved from past searches as well as this search). Click on # Saved Citations.
- Select the citations you wish to export to RefWorks by clicking in the box near the citation. (Note that the date you saved the citation is given.)
- Click Export article citation(s)
- Click the link for RefWorks.
- Log in to RefWorks; your records should appear in the Last Imported folder.
(You may wish to delete the citations from your MyJSTOR account that you have exported into RefWorks, just to lessen the clutter and confusion of have citations saved there.)
