Use of Collection Materials
Conditions for Use
Requests for permission to use images from the Ade Bethune Collection must be made in writing. See the form Request for permission to use materials (pdf).
Permission is granted only for ONE TIME, NON-EXCLUSIVE USE in one publication, exhibit, or activity, in one edition, and in one language. Any reproduction or subsequent use of the provided copies is prohibited without further written permission and payment of additional use fees, if applicable. Unauthorized use will result in a charge of double the fee rate.
St. Catherine University does not own copyright to all materials in the Ade Bethune Collection. It is the responsibility of the requestor to secure copyright from the owner. We will assist you in determining the copyright owner to the best of our ability.
Images may be reduced or enlarged, but the original proportions must be retained. Cropping and other alterations are prohibited.
Credit must be given to the Ade Bethune Collection, St. Catherine University Library, St. Paul, MN 55105. Additional information (image number, series name) may be required, as specified in each individual instance. Each individual item must be credited separately. Credit must appear with the image or on a credit page that indicates the page number and position on the page (if necessary).
In some cases, a copy of the publication must be donated to the Ade Bethune Collection. Upon publication, the copy should be sent to: Ade Bethune Collection, St. Catherine University Library, 2004 Randolph Ave., St. Paul, MN 55105. For web site use, the URL should be supplied.
The Ade Bethune Collection reserves the right to decline permission to publishers and individuals who have not complied with these conditions.
Use Fees
Fees listed are for one time, non-exclusive use. These fees are separate from, and in addition to, any applicable reproduction charges.
Use fees are waived for non-profit publications that are distributed free of charge. Other use fees may be reduced or waived under some circumstances, at our discretion.
There is a 20% discount for 10 or more items used in a single project.
