International Women's Day 2008
 |
The theme for this year's International Women's Day, celebrated each year on March 8, is Investing in Women and Girls. With it's roots in the early 1900s, International Women's Day was first recognized by the United Nations in 1975, during International Women's Year.
Locally, the Advocates for Human Rights and the Human Rights Program at the U of MN are sponsoring the 13th Annual International Women's Day Celebration on March 15 at Coffman Memorial Union.
