What We Loved in 2018

At this time of year we like to reflect on things that brought us joy this year, so here are some of our favorite things from 2018.


Our library staff and student workers read from a wide variety of genres, so if you're looking for a book to read over break, try some of our favorites this year, like Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite, Ask Me About My Uterus: A Quest to Make Doctors Believe in Women's Pain by Abby Norman, and The Power by Naomi Alderman. Our library staff and student workers loved a wide variety of movies this year. Only two movies had more than one vote: Black Panther and To All the Boys I've Loved Before. Look at all of the other movies we loved this year:

TV shows

Library staff and student workers also watched a variety of television shows this year, with only two shows being mentioned by multiple people: The Good Place and The Great British Bake Off. Look at everything we watched this year:


As for music, we're all over the board with what we like, but one artist was mentioned by library staff and students alike: Janelle Monae. We took her beloved song, Make Me Feel, and all the other songs we liked this year and made a Spotify playlist. Listen to it:
