Dr. Dahlen is an associate professor in the Master of Library and Information Science Program at St. Catherine University. She teaches courses on youth materials and library services, storytelling, and library science. Her research addresses transracially adopted Koreans in children’s literature, the information behaviors of adopted Koreans, and diversity in children’s literature and library education.

One of the recent projects Dr. Dahlen has contributed to is the creation of the infographic below showing the lack of diversity in children's literature. Dr. Dahlen worked with many people to get this infographic created, which you can read about and download on her website, and it clearly shows how far we have to go. Join us to learn more from Dr. Dahlen about diversity in youth literature.
