Congrats to St. Kate's librarian Cynthia Graham, along with other St. Kate's colleagues, on receiving a GHR Innovative Scholarship Grant. Their grant was for a sleep intervention project: Environmental Intervention Toolkit to Improve the Sleep of Residents of the Minnesota Veterans Home-Minneapolis. It focused on creating a two-phase sleep hygiene intervention to address systems-level challenges that hinder sleep quality for residents of Minnesota Veterans Home-Minneapolis. Cindy worked on this project with Janet Benz, Interprofessional Education; Katherine Campbell, Interprofessional Education; Brenda Frie, Occupational Therapy.
Many GHR Innovative Scholarship Grants are awarded each year and were created with a large donation St. Catherine University received. The Henrietta Schmoll School of Health (HSSH) received $18 million from GHR Foundation in 2016 to advance growth and innovation in healthcare education in three key pillars: global health, primary care, and senior living. A portion of this funding is dedicated to the broader St. Kate's community to pursue research focused on cross-disciplinary approaches to addressing the social determinants of health.
Great work, Cindy!
