About

The Voices of Homelessness Oral History Project set out to solicit, collect, transcribe, preserve, and then make available oral history interviews documenting stories of the intersection between housing insecurity and higher education as told by students and staff members at St. Catherine University. The project was completed from May 2012 to April 2014 and contains 14 interviews. Louise Edwards-Simpson, Assistant Professor of History, was the Project Director. She was assisted by Luci Russell and Helen Garcia, undergraduate student research collaborators from the SCU/UST School of Social Work. The project was made possible in part by a grant from the Minnesota state Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund and was administered by the Minnesota Historical Society.
