Events
Research shows that writing and studying in community (even when you're not speaking to anyone!) improves your accountability, focus, and productivity. In fact, the participants of our previous events said they found it "motivating" to write in the same room at the same time, and several even said they made it to the finish line with some pretty tough assignments by the end of the event. Expert and friendly peer tutors float around to answer your writing questions and generally support you as you write or study.
Upcoming Study Nights
Upcoming Write-Ins
A “Write-In” is a chunk of dedicated time for you to sit down and start, continue, or finish any paper you're working on for any class. We serve coffee, tea, and donuts to keep you fueled. It's like a study hall, but there's no shushing.
RSVP is not required (you'll just sign in when you get here). Each Write-Ins is scheduled for two hours, but you can come for all or part of the time–your choice. Open to ALL students–CFA, CFW, Grad, and anyone else–no matter what your major, program, or type of paper you bring to work on. You can also join us online by registering for a google meet link. Once you register, we will send you the meeting link.
As we like to say in the Writing and Reading Center: Never write alone!
Future “Donuts ‘n Coffee Write-Ins”:
Email tutoring@stkate.edu with any questions.
Upcoming Math-Ins
A Math-In is like a write-in but about general math support. Need help with math in any of your classes, come to a Math-In! Our tutors can help you with algebra, geometry, basic statistics, calculus, and more.
