Thank you for considering a donation to the St. Catherine University Library. The Library will consider donations of books and materials that align with the curricular or research interests of the University and our Collection Development Policy.
The Library is unable to accept most donations of books and other material, including personal or departmental libraries. This policy is due to Library space constraints and the costs associated with sorting, reviewing and processing donated material. In general the Library does not accept:
- Materials in poor condition
- Out of date materials, such as older medical books
- Textbooks
- Popular magazines or mass market paperbacks
- Self-published materials
- Items dropped off without prior approval
If you would like the Library to consider your donation, please provide a description of the donation and a list of titles via email to the Library director, Emily Asch.
For donations of archival materials, unpublished materials, or personal papers relevant to St. Catherine University or its history, please contact the Archives and Special Collections at archives@stkate.edu.
If donations are accepted, it is with the understanding that the Library may add them to the collection at its discretion or dispose of them if they do not meet the standards for selection. Donors agree to accept responsibility for donation delivery and any shipping related fees of gifts. The Library is unable to provide an inventory or list of accepted materials. Written acknowledgement of a gift may be sent to donors, but monetary evaluation of gifts is not provided.
